Life as I know it

Farewell Pinky

Does anyone really care about my Pinky? No, but I do!

I can’t tell you how much I love my Pinky, she has seriously been through some crap. First only a week after I bought her, I was totally climbing rocks thinking I was Shera or someone else radder than her, and I totally scratched her side, poor thing, she didn’t complain much and it’s not like I cracked her spine or anything. Then only a week later, Josh, my husband sat on her! OMG! I was furious, I mean think about it, would anyone want a 350 pound man sitting on them? And to make matters worse, she was not all the way disabled but still worked perfectly fine but her whole world turned black, as if she went blind. Josh blew out her LCD screen, he might as well have cracked her in half and stupid me, I didn’t even purchase her life insurance!

Months later after putting her to rest, in the box she came in, I sent her in to get fixed. I felt bad tossing her out and getting a new one because I had really grown attached to her in two weeks. So, even though I could have easily spent $50 more dollars for a brand new Pinky, I sent her in to get a face lift. She came back as good as new, they even fixed her wound I gave her on the first week of her new life with me. Ugh, I was thrilled. It cost me $135 to get her the new screen, new body and all new manuals, battery and charger. It was a good day for Pinky.

Last year, in 2011, I did a project 365 and for the first 50 days I used Chichi,  my beast. I used my T2i for the first couple weeks until I got ChiChi, the 7D, and I used her for just a while. Once I got Pinky back and realized all she been through, with surgery and all, I wanted to give her the life she always dreamed of. So, I put ChiChi on the back burner knowing she would get plenty exposure from the sessions and weddings I had booked and knew she could show off in those moments. Pinky became my partner in crime, that little chick could pull some images, so I used her for the remainder of my 365. ¾ or more of my project, was used with Pinky, some of my best images & macro shots, were taken by her. She’s been dropped, kicked, rained on, stood up and everything else you can possibly imagine. We even went swimming together, well,  with the proper material of course.

But now Pinky is missing and has either 1. Retired and left me. 2. Got sick of me and my selfish ways therefore hitched hiked for a new partner or 3. Was kidnapped. I have no clue as to where she might be, I have torn apart my house & my car, gave my home a whole new look by spring cleaning it and yeah, she’s gone and so today, I say my farewell.

Pinky, you have been absolutely amazing, even though I gave you more scares than any of my other shooters, you have been my best, the easiest to work with and quite frankly, the prettiest damn color on earth! I love you!

Farewell my friend… Farewell! Oh, but if you even THINK of showing up after my vacation, you better think twice missy, cause were about to start a whole new ball game with Mister Aqua!
